The fire alarm system is a system that consists of various components and circuits which is designed by various fire alarm system companies to monitor and alert people if there is any fire-related incident. The fire alarm system plays a vital role in safeguarding our lives.

Components of the fire alarm system

  1. Main Fire Alarm Control panel — control panel in a fire alarm system is similar to the heart in the human body which controls the entire system. It receives a signal from initiating devices and supervises and display if there is any fault in the fire alarm system. This component of the fire alarm system also activates the notification in case of a fire incident.

2. Repeater Panels — Repeater panel is use to display main fire panel information as well as user can control some of parameter from it. It is generally installed at Security gate.

  1. Initiating device — initiating device plays a vital role in sensing the fire and immediately sends a signal to the control panel so that safety measures can be taken.

a. Smoke detectors which will sense smoke only & will provide unique & pin point location.

b. Heat sensor which will work on fixed temperature or rate of rise. We can change the sensitivity level as per our Requirements & also give pin point location

c. Multi Detectors is a combination of Smoke & Heat

d. Beam Detectors: are used where height is more than 8 meters, these types of detectors are effective for double heighted area.

e. Flame Detectors are used to detect the flames only.

  1. Notification appliance — after receiving the signal control panel observes the signal and through notification, appliances inform and alert the operator.

a. Sounder cum Strobe are the Notification devices & these can create sound and light flash in case of Fire detection.

5. Input, Output & Relay modules are used to control and operate third party application, we can connect Building Management system by using of appropriate modules

Types of fire alarm system

Addressable fire alarm system

An addressable fire alarm system is a modern type fire alarm system that Every device is connected to the control panel thru loop wire &has a unique address thus when fire incidents occur we can easily recognize the area and quickly take action.

Conventional fire alarm system

Conventional fire alarm system consists of Fire alarm panel, smoke detectors, Heat Detectors, Manual Call point, Sounders and beacons are grouped into zones, each zone is single wiring circuit connected with different devices in particular area. This kind of fire alarm system is useful for small areas. The disadvantage of using a traditional system is that it we are not able to recognize the exact Location where the fire strikes. Thus we prefer this system in small areas only.

You can find many fire alarm system companies that provide installation for it.
